Foster Healthy competition, Develop genuine passion
As part of the FBISD public school system, students are constantly introduced to the world of science and STEM competitions but often lack the necessary resources to compete successfully or discover a passion for science through this process. To actively address this, four Clements High School sophomores founded Breaking the Sky in February 2021. They began by offering weekly classes in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to prepare students for various competitions throughout the school year.
Over time, Breaking the Sky evolved to include outreach events aimed at introducing younger community members to higher-level science. The organization also started offering organized coaching for competitions such as the National Science Bowl and preparatory mock competitions. By fostering a passion for science through friendly competition and outreach, we believe that not even the sky is the limit when it comes to learning.
